Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the all-inclusive Riu Guanacaste, zipline through the rainforest, swim beneath waterfalls, and relax in volcanic hot springs.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Monday, Dec 29 | Arrival in Liberia ✈️

• Arrive at Liberia International Airport (LIR).

• Transfer to Riu Guanacaste Resort.

  🍽 Included Meals: Dinner
  Evening: Welcome mixer and tropical cocktail reception.

Day 2 – Tuesday, Dec 30 | Buena Vista Adventure Park 🌋

• Zipline through the rainforest, horseback riding, and relax in volcanic hot springs.
  🕒 Drive Time: ~1 hr 30 min each way from Riu
  🍽 Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Wednesday, Dec 31 | Llanos de Cortez Waterfall Excursion 💦

Morning/Afternoon: Half-day excursion from Riu Guanacaste to Llanos de Cortez Waterfall.

Enjoy swimming, photography, and scenic views. Optional self-paid lunch at a local café along the way.
🕒 Drive Time: ~1 hours each way (~2 hours round trip)

Evening: Return to Riu Guanacaste for New Year’s Eve gala and celebration, complete with dinner, drinks, and festivities.

Day 4 – Thursday, Jan 1 | Resort Recovery Day 🎆

• Relax at the resort: pool, beach, or spa.

Day 5 – Friday, Jan 2 | Transfer to Tamarindo 🌅

• After breakfast, travel to Tamarindo, a gay-friendly surf town with beautiful beaches.

  Evening: Free time to explore, sunset walk, or optional dinner.

Day 6 – Saturday, Jan 3 | Arenal Volcano + Lake Arenal Boat Tour 🚤

• Full-day excursion to Arenal Volcano Lookout for photos and scenic views.

• Enjoy a boat tour on Lake Arenal, taking in the volcano backdrop and surrounding rainforest.

• Optional stop for self-paid snacks or coffee at Café Macadamia, with panoramic views of the lake.

Day 7 – Sunday, Jan 4 | Free Day in Tamarindo 🏖

All tours with Queer as Traveler include round-trip group flights from Los Angeles (LAX), which also include group airport transfers to and from the hotels.

For travelers joining from other cities or countries:

• You can choose a land-only option by calling us before booking.

• In this case, the tour price will be adjusted lower to reflect the excluded airfare.

• Important: Land-only travelers will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the hotel and any airport transfers. They will not be on the group bus during arrivals or departures.

Once in Costa Rica, you’ll still join all hotels, tours, activities, and meals included in the package.
